Mesurement
Understanding, diagnosing, and measuring food safety culture.
Theme 1: Measurement
Focus: Evidence, Insight, and Cultural Diagnostics
This theme focuses on developing and applying robust methodologies to quantify the intangible drivers of food safety. We move beyond surface-level compliance to diagnose the actual state of an organisation’s culture, turning raw data into meaningful insight that allows us to move from assumption to inquiry.
Current research focus areas include:
Digital & AI Diagnostics: Utilising emerging technologies, such as machine learning and AI, to investigate and improve food safety culture maturity within leading companies.
Corporate Reporting & Benchmarking: Analysing how global leaders frame safety in public documents to establish best practice reporting indicators.
The Maturity Continuum: Evaluating organisations against established frameworks to identify gaps between stated intent and the reality of everyday practice.
Systemic Risk Identification: Investigating invisible factors, such as workplace complacency, to understand their direct impact on safety outcomes.
→ This priority shapes how we design tools, interpret data, and support evidence-informed management.
